What can the price of a Cappuccino tell you about a city? This FACT indicates the average price of a cup of coffee in each city according to the Gilkatho Cappuccino Price Index™ (CPI). The CPI average for each city was found by a survey of over 1100 coffee venues in each Australian city. According to international consumer figures, Australians consume over 2.7 kg of coffee per person each year. The data here represents prices as of February 2016. The city with the highest average price of coffee is Perth, at $3.86 a cup. The city with the lowest average coffee price is Sydney, at $3.35 a cup. Data for Darwin was not available.
