Urban public transport (UPT) is an important part of the transport task. Effective public transport systems provide benefits for both individuals and the communtiy as a whole, and comprise an important part of government policy at all levels. Effective public transport systems help reduce the cost of congestion, ease environmental pressures, and provide affordable and sustainable commuting options to residents and visitors. These projections are based modelling from 2011 onwards.
