About
This FACT indicates the total number of restaurants that are listed within the Yellow Pages in each Australian city per 100,000 persons. It excludes fast food restaurants and function centres. Note that not all restaurants are listed in public listing directories, so the information presented here should be taken as a general guide to numbers rather than a complete set of statistics. However, while there are no exact figures on the number of restaurants and eateries operating in each city, the disparity in numbers shown here affords an interesting point for discussion. According to the Yellow Pages listings in March 2018, Canberra has the highest number of restaurants, at 267.30 per 100,000 persons. Brisbane, on the other hand, has the lowest proportion, at 78.43 restaurants per 100,000 persons.
