This FACT indicates the median weekly family incomes of couples with children in each Australian city. The median has been used here as it gives a more accurate reflection of the overall data set, as it is not impacted by figures that lie far outside of the regular data range. Results of the 2011 ABS Census show the median Australian family income of couples with children is $2310 per week. The city with the highest median family income is Canberra, at $3060 per week; just under one quarter higher than the national average. The city with the lowest is Hobart, at $2172 per week.
