About
This FACT indicates the population growth, as a percentage of the original population, in each Australian city. Population growth is the change in a population over time, and is influenced by fatality rates, birth rates, migration, and domestic relocation. There are usually strong positive correlations between economic prosperity and population growth, as people tend to move to where the work is. This fact considers data from 2011 and 2016. Statistics show that Canberra has experienced the highest population growth in recent years, at 16.34 percent. Hobart, unsurprisingly, had the slowest population growth, at 5.06 percent.
