Walkscore.com has measured the walkability score of each city by measuring the number of typical consumer destinations such as cafes and supermarkets that are within walking distance of a person’s home or dwelling. A score is then aggregated from 0 to 100 with 0 being a more car dependent city and 100 being a more walkable city. Based on data collected in 2015, the city with the highest score is Sydney at 63 out of 100. In comparison, the most walkable city in the U.S is New York with a score of 87.6. The city with the lowest score is Canberra at 40 out of 100.
