How attractive is your city? This FACT indicates the percentage of people residing in each Australian capital city in 2011 that previously held residency overseas in 2006.
The city with the highest percentage of expatriates is Perth, at 9.7 percent – and consequently the city with a comparatively high number of residents who were born overseas. The city that has attracted the least international residents is Hobart, at 3.3 percent. A high proportion indicates a high migration rate, which has economic growth implications driven by labour opportunities and investments.

High is good
